Simon & Schuster published Elixir, Hilary Duff's first novel, in hardcover on October 12, 2010. Elixir is the first in a series of books that Duff is committed in scribing. The book, aimed at young adults, has since been released internationally and has become a New York Times best-seller. The sequel to the book, entitled Devoted will be released in hardcover on October 11, 2011.

In May 2011, Hilary Duff starred in Bloodworth, an adaptation of the novel Provinces of Night by William Gay, where Duff plays Raven Halfacre, a teenage daughter of a promiscuous, alcoholic mother.

Amongst the other HI flicks you should look out for are 'Stash House', 'Kidnapped', 'The Replicas, 'Mothers Day' and a sequel to 'The Collector'!

"'Home Invasion' tells the story of a single mother who fatally shoots a burglar in self-defense and then joins a support group where she makes a friend, not knowing her new pal is the burglar's girlfriend seeking revenge."

The shoot is set to kick off early next month in LA.

"I was lucky," she continues. "I think everything on my checklist is taken care of with my guy, but the most important thing is to keep me laughing -- you can't take yourself too seriously -- and having a lot of the same qualities. We are totally different, but we are both driven. Family is important to both of us and we have the same views and opinions."

For now, Hilary Duff has put her music career on hold, because she is spending her time writing a novel and developing projects -- she earned her executive producer stripes on "Beauty & the Briefcase" - and not all of them are for her to star in. She also took some time off to live her life, but not to plan her wedding.

"I just got engaged in February and I have been busy with all of this stuff," she tells ET. "We have been pretty relaxed about all of this stuff. I am sure it will get more hectic when we actually set a date and start planning. We are just excited right now. We want to enjoy that process and not get all crazy. I don't want to turn into 'Bridezilla' and stress out about getting everything done in a short period of time."
